Code of Conduct

Participants in Wright County Soccer,

We, as a board, are concerned about the conduct of all who participate in Wright County Soccer activities. It is our obligation to remind you that youth sports are supposed to be fun-for the players. Unfortunately many adults lose sight of the fact that their actions, whether verbal or nonverbal, can have a lasting emotional effect on our players. To this end, the Wright County Soccer Board of Directors (WCSB) has adopted a Code of Conduct for all who participate in club activities. We are now requiring all managers, coaches, players and parents/spectators to review, understand and abide by this Code of Conduct in order to participate in Wright County Soccer activities. Failure to comply with these standards can lead to eventual forfeiture of the privilege of participation, as set forth in the code of conduct.

The essential elements of character building and ethics in sports are embodied in the concepts of sportsmanship, trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and good citizenship. It is the duty of the adult participants to lead by example, no matter what the circumstances of a game are. Please read and abide by the code of conduct that has been developed to clarify and distinguish acceptable behavior that is necessary to the development of the sport of soccer.

Thank you,
Wright County Soccer Board of Directors

As a board member, player, parent, coach or manager of Wright County Soccer I agree to

  1. Treat all players, coaches, referees and spectators with respect. This applies to representatives of both teams.
  2. Control my emotions. I will refrain from negative comments and abusive behavior directed toward any player, coach, referee or spectator.
  3. Address all concerns regarding referee’s to my team coach or a member of the WCS board. I will not engage in any negative behavior/discussion with a referee.
  4. Commit to an environment free of drugs, alcohol and tobacco.
  5. Remember that good practices lead to good games. I will attend (or send my child to) all practices or will notify the coach in the event one must be missed.
  6. Be prepared for all games and practices – this includes being on time, having all equipment, medication, water etc necessary for the conditions.
  7. Relay this information to all family members attending a WCS event.

Any participant who does not adhere to this Code of Conduct will be subject to disciplinary action as outlined in the Wright County Soccer Code of Conduct Disciplinary Guidelines.

Thank you for supporting Wright County Soccer.
